Invalid change ordering?

Has any new work been done to fix the "Invalid change ordering" error
that occurs when a duplicate file is found?
 
It's a bit of a challenge to try to edit stuff out of the dumpfile when
it's 2 GB long.  Not to mention that it's not clear to me what exactly
to remove.
