Do you mean "apt-get install libossp-uuid-perl" ?  Or something else?

If that wasn't rhetorical, typical linux filesystems are *way* faster
than NTFS for the type of small file io vss2svn does.  If you're using
an NTFS partition from linux I'm not sure how that translates in terms
of performance.  Maybe there's not much difference.
